Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is the Modified Bavarian Formula and why is it used?
The Modified Bavarian Formula is the standardized mathematical formula adopted by the German Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (KMK) and uni-assist to convert international grading systems to the German academic scale in an objective, equitable manner.
Can I get admission to Germany with a 7.0 or 6.5 CGPA?
Yes! While highly competitive TU9 universities often prefer a German grade of 2.0 or better (approx. 7.5+ CGPA), numerous prestigious state universities and Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS/Fachhochschulen) welcome students with 6.5–7.0 CGPA, especially if supported by a strong SOP, relevant projects, and GRE/GATE scores.
